Dig Deeper:
Hebrews 11:6: tells us that without faith it is ___________ to please God.

Faith is foundational for the Believer in Christ to live the kind of life God wants them to live, and it’s all over the New Testament.

In the ________, the word for faith occurs 217 times as a verb and 227 times as a noun in the New Testament!

In Hebrews 11:1 the Bible defines faith:
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

In its simplest form, faith is movement.
And faith begins where the ________ of God is known.

To interpret Scripture, there are rules to follow to do it properly. This practice is called HERMENEUTICS.
It means the practice of interpretation

The First principle in correct Bible interpretation is called the “Literal Interpretation principle.”
-This means taking the text at ______ value.

The Second principle is called the “Contextual Principle.”
-It means to keep the verse in its ________

4 things we see in 1 John 5:14-15 using the Literal Interpretation Principle:
1.     We can approach God.
2.     We can ask things of Him
3.     He hears us
4.     He _________

Using the Contextual Principle we see the passages it talking about having eternal life.

Do we always know the will of God in a situation? _________
The easy part is when we KNOW God’s Will, we believe Him to do it.

Faith involves your:
·        Attitude
o       Acts 14:9 says ‘perceiving they had faith’
·        Actions
o       Mark 5:25-34 The woman with the issue of blood: vs 27- ‘came in the press’
·        Thought Life
o       James 1:6-7- But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering
·        Confession
o       Mark 11:23- , if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.

Hebrews 11:6: “Without faith it is impossible to please God.”
Notice what this verse doesn’t say…
·        It does not say ‘without faith it is impossible to KNOW God.’
·        It doesn’t say ‘without faith it is impossible to SERVE God.’

Lots of people know a Powerful God but live _______________ lives
Having extreme faith is not the problem.
GO DO ITS:
1.     Take the outline and check out the scriptures for yourself. See if what I’ve said is real and true.
2.     Decide how you’re going to respond.
3.     Be here next week.
